diet change?

I think I am going to have to ask for a diet change. It has been one week and with all the fish in my diet I have been having some unusual things happening that I do not care to go into detail about. Very disgusting if I do say so myself. If you read the Diva thread you will know what I am talking about. I have felt nauseated for the past two days. I have been on this diet of orange roughy twice a day and tuna twice a day on top of the asparagus and all the other greens. There is a little chicken and egg whites but not much. Oh and I do get some really yummy steak. I get a lot to eat and I am never really hungry. Lets just say I am afraid to leave home away from the restroom. I am getting leaner and the clothes thing has become a huge problem. Although I weigh more than I did my very first show when I bought all those tiny clothes well they are huge now! I am struggle daily just to find something that is not 2-4 sizes too big. The weather has been crappy so I am lucky I can still wear baggy sweats to work but everything else is pitiful. I do plan on putting some weight back on so I hate to spend the money on smaller clothes. I only have 10 days of school left so I guess I will just tough it out.

I am still playing around with my blog and intend on adding a bunch of blogs I read but have not had a chance. I will have more time when school is out and wanted you to all know that I plan on getting back into blogging this summer. I have missed it. Now if I can just figure out how to get that advertisement off the top of my blog I will be happy.

Definietly reduce the Fish. You're intake of Mercury could be quite alarming, and Tuna is high Mercury even in the light.

I tend to adopt this approach to peoples Fish eating habits now.

If you eat Tuna or something quite high Mercury, limit to 2-3 serves a week, as per recomendations from some health insiders.

This increases the bodies ability to potentially Chelate the heavy Metal back out in its entirety, I believe Vit C also helps Chelate heavy metals.

If anyone wants Fish like Salmon, a low Mercury kind, just to avoid eating too much Mercury, I suggest the individual limits to 100g, (3.5OZ), in one serve, or 2x 50g, which is fine because even with the reduced Protein in both 50g serves, people can get it back from things like Peas, Beans, Lentils, Mushrooms, Rice etc etc, and then because of the Carb content in those foods, you can just top up your Carbs with things like Tomatos, Peppers, Cucumber, Veggies, Cashews etc etc.

If you're eating too much Fish, you run the risk somehwere along the line, of possible heavy metal toxicity, which won't be pleasant.

Exactly how much daily Mercury you could ingest without residual buildup, I cannot say, but it makes sense to limit high Mercury stuff to a few times a week, or low Mercury to limited amounts daily.

Don't forget if you consume things like Soy, Nuts, (Walnuts in particular), Flax, Omega Eggs, (Flax given to Chickens), and Avocado for example, the Alpha Linolenic Acid converts into EPA and DHA anyway, which are the Fish Fats, so there's no necessity to have the Fish Fats as much as some people do. The only slight drawback, is the conversion of ALA, may not yield as much EPA and DHA when comparing indentical levels of uncooked Fish Fat and uncooked plant matter ALA.

You could always incorporate a bit of Turkey into your diet, as an alternative Protein source, or maybe perhaps a bit of Low Fat Cheese if that floats your boat.

Low Fat is better than the equivalent serve of low Fat CC, as it's got a ratio of 2g Saturate, to 2g Unsaturate, in I think about 100g, whereas low Fat CC has 1g Saturate, no unsaturate, but Low Fat Cheese is more Protein rich.

I'm glad you posted those pictures of yourself, as a reminder of the fantastic hard work and effort you've out in, certainly in the last 2.5 years, since I've known you.

You positvely ooze success, and that beautiful smile says so much about the person and athlete you've become today.

You are a rolemodel and a testament to human sacrifce and effort, and you should be very, very proud of what you've done.

You are definitely a Lady of a very high calibre.

Take care, best wishes and GOOD LUCK.

:-) :-).

lol it's definitely the Orange Roughy :) Just switch it to some other fish you like...although, that was my problem, I didn't like any other fish. Mine never really got all that bad but I remember reading one of Stef's posts on her Orange Roughy incidence :) Good Luck!!

Like Matt, I'd be worried about the mercury as well. It's not a joke or hype. Just be careful.

Glad things are going well for you and school is almost done.

Have a great week!!

I always hear people talking about Orange Roughy and that is something I have never seen around here. We go to the fish market all the time and that is just not a fish that is available here. What the hell is it anyway???

Yup! Orange Roughy! Tastes awesome, but doesn't come out the other end as pleasantly! I had serious issues with it and stopped eating it altogether. I think I may still have some in the freezer.
